Tippet Rise Art Center

Taylor thrives on making the impossible a reality - in fact, that is the very foundation of her career.  As a consequence of her ability to organize spectacular outcomes, she has been invited to partake in some wild ventures.  A chapter of Taylor’s career took her to Fishtail, Montana, where the cowboys are commonplace and the $300,000 Steinway pianos move across the land via tractors at an unusual art center called Tippet Rise. After returning from India, Taylor went straight into the frigid cold of the Montana mountains to lead a team of filmmakers on a 12,000 acre cattle ranch covered in sculpture.  Tippet Rise was founded by the most eccentric of the eccentrics, and she was an essential part of building the center, literally, from the ground up.  Thanks to Taylor and her team, Tippet Rise celebrated their inaugural season alongside the best artists and classical musicians in the world. She dangled violinists from the pendulum of Mark di Suvero’s sculpture with a camera in hand, she put on a hard hat and learned how to be a General Contractor when the center looked like it would not be finished in time, and she recorded 45 percussionists with 17 microphones as the sounds of their conch shells echoed across the rattle snake ridden valleys.

Here are some of Taylor’s biggest Tippet Rise accomplishments:

  • Led a team of filmmakers to document concerts and conduct interviews with over 80 musicians from around the world and 7 major art installations commissioned by artists worldwide

  • Managed a construction team of 100+ workers to ensure an on-time opening of the Olivier Music Barn (a classical music venue on the 12,000 acre property)

  • Played a major role in determining the art center’s creative direction and the resulting branding efforts
